Lt. Col. Boyd "Rainmaker" Melson
U.S. Army Reserve
- Military Service
Boyd Melson graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 2003, earning a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Nuclear Engineering. Commissioned as a lieutenant, he was promoted to captain within about three years and continues to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve—now at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
He also graduated from the Army’s Command and General Staff Officer Course and is an Iraq War veteran. - Academic Career
Beyond West Point, Boyd earned an MBA from Touro University International. He further pursued a Master’s in Psychology at Harvard University and obtained graduate certificates in “Topic In Human Behavior” and “Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging leadership.” Currently, he’s a doctoral candidate at USC, studying Organizational Change & Leadership. - Emotional Intelligence Certified Mindset Coach
